Apple has launched its first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo. This device opens like a book to reveal a large 7.6-inch screen. When closed, it has a smaller 5.4-inch outer display. The announcement was made by Apple's new CEO, John Ternus. He described it as the largest display ever on an iPhone.

The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999, which is considerably more expensive than alternatives. The iPhone 18 Pro, by comparison, starts at just $1,199. Both phones use the same powerful A20 Pro chip inside. However, the iPhone 18 Pro has a superior camera with three lenses. The Duo only has two rear cameras and lacks a telephoto lens.

Despite its high price, the Duo offers some remarkable features. Its titanium frame is built for durability, and it supports Apple Pencil. The inner screen is fifty percent larger than the iPhone Pro Max. Still, reviewers have noted that its battery life is somewhat shorter. If buyers prioritized camera quality, the iPhone 18 Pro would be preferable.

Experts have suggested that consumers should compare both devices carefully before purchasing. Foldable phones represent a radical shift in how we use technology. Some people believe that if the price dropped significantly, foldables would dominate. Others argue that traditional phones remain the more practical and reliable choice. The debate over whether innovation justifies the cost continues to grow.
