Turkey's Ministry of Trade has announced important new rules. These regulations will change how stores advertise discounts. The new rules will take effect on August 1, 2026. They aim to protect consumers from misleading price campaigns.

Under the new regulation, stores must follow a clear method. The crossed-out price must be the lowest price from 10 days before. This stops sellers from raising prices before a campaign. For fresh goods like fruit, the previous price applies instead.

This transparency rule affects many businesses in Turkey. Retailers, e-commerce platforms, and online marketplaces must all comply. Each sales channel must calculate its own reference price. A price from one channel cannot apply to another.

The Ministry says the goal is fair competition. Consumers should receive accurate information about real discounts. Companies that violate these rules might face penalties. Businesses must now review their pricing strategy carefully.
