Last Sunday was a very special day. It was International Yoga Day. People in many countries did yoga together. This happens every year on June 21. It was also the summer solstice. That is the longest day of the year.

Big groups gathered in India and Asia. In New York, people did yoga in Times Square. Some people did yoga near the pyramids in Egypt. Others practiced by rivers and lakes in India. This was the 12th International Yoga Day.

The United Nations started this day in 2014. India asked the UN to celebrate yoga. The theme this year was healthy aging. Yoga is good for the body and mind. People of all ages can practice it.
