A baby eagle named Sandy had a scary fall this week. She fell from her nest tree in Big Bear, California. More than 20,000 people were watching the live camera. They saw Sandy drop from branch to branch. Finally, she fell out of the camera's view.

The fall happened because of Sandy's sister, Luna. Luna tried to jump over Sandy near the nest. This caused Sandy to lose her balance and fall. However, Sandy was able to fly to another tree. A security camera captured her flight.

The group Friends of Big Bear Valley watches these eagles. They said Sandy looked good during her flight. They are staying positive that she is safe. Sandy's mother, Jackie, was nearby after the incident. Jackie and her partner Shadow will make sure Sandy is fed.

Sandy and Luna hatched in early April 2026. Eaglets usually learn to fly 10 to 14 weeks after birth. Sandy is now about 12 weeks old. This might have been her first real flight. Millions of fans around the world follow these eagles online.
