Amazon has announced a big change for its streaming service. Starting April 10, 2026, a new tier will launch. It is called Prime Video Ultra. This premium plan will cost $4.99 per month. It will be available in the United States first.
The Ultra plan removes all ads from movies and shows. Subscribers will also get 4K video and Dolby Atmos sound. They can watch on five screens at the same time. Users can also download up to 100 titles for offline viewing.
The standard Prime Video plan will not disappear, however. It still comes with a regular Prime membership. That membership costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year. Standard users will now get Dolby Vision at no extra cost. They can stream on four screens and download 50 titles.
Some people might think the extra cost is worth it. Others may prefer to keep the standard plan with ads. Both plans offer the same content library, which is important. If viewers want the best quality, they should consider Ultra.
