Something amazing will happen on August 12, 2026. A total solar eclipse will cross over Spain. The island of Mallorca is one of the best places. The Moon will move in front of the Sun completely. This is the first total eclipse in Spain since 1905.

The eclipse will happen close to sunset in Mallorca. The Sun will be very low above the sea. Totality will last about one minute and 36 seconds. During totality, the sky will become dark suddenly. It will look like a beautiful and strange twilight.

You must protect your eyes during an eclipse. Looking at the Sun directly can damage your eyes. Regular sunglasses are not safe enough for this. You should buy special eclipse glasses that meet safety rules. These glasses block almost all of the Sun's light.

Shops have already started selling protective eclipse glasses. Many people are planning trips to Mallorca for this event. Hotels on the island are filling up quickly. If you want to see this rare spectacle, plan early. It might be a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
